“Word for Today” with Ptr Rolly Custodio: What Paul Prayed For
‘…we have not stopped praying for you…’ Colossians 1:9

TODAY’S THOUGHTS

When it came to those he loved, notice what Paul prayed for:

1) That they would understand the will of God. ‘Asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.’ Rome was not an easy place to be a Christian, yet Paul wrote: ‘Everyone has heard about your obedience…’ (Romans 16:19 NIV). Obedience to God’s will should be your number one priority. When your name is mentioned, no one should have any doubt as to the level of your commitment to Jesus.

2) That their lives would be pleasing to God. ‘That you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way…’ (Colossians 1:10 NIV). When you stand before God to be rewarded you won’t hear the words ‘well said’ or ‘well planned’ but, ‘…”Well done, good and faithful servant…”‘ (Matthew 25:21 NKJV).

3) That they would prosper in the work God had given them. ‘…bearing fruit in every good work…’ (Colossians 1:10 NIV). Nothing brings joy to the heart of a parent like seeing their child succeed. And God feels the same way about you.

4) That they would persevere by drawing on His strength. ‘Being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance…’ (Colossians 1:11 NIV). Like a light bulb, you depend on power from another source. So unless you stay connected to God you’ll be spiritually weak.

5) That they would praise God. ‘Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints…’ (Colossians 1:12 NIV). In other words, live with an attitude of gratitude and a heart of praise.

Apply This To Your Life Today

The question is As Christian how we pray for them? Do we show love for our brethren and unbelievers by praying for them or we are like hypocrites prentending to be holy but our heart are full of negatives and condemnation. God would never bless us if we will not show love to our brethren and unbelievers.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your unconditional love for us. Thank you that while we were still sinners you send your Son Jesus Chirst to die in our behalf so that we may inherit eternal life. I bless you today Lord for loving and forgiving us so that our life will experience an abundant life, peace and joy by obeying You. In Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION

Father in heaven I admit that I am a sinner, I repent of all my sins and accept your Son Jesus Christ as my personal Lord & Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer from the bottom of your heart you are now saved, it is God’s… promise in John 3:16 – that if you trust His Son (Jesus) you will not perish or die but you will have ETERNAL LIFE. When You’re under Attack
‘The name of the Lord is a strong tower…’ Proverbs 18:10

TODAY’S INSIGHT

Martin Niemoller, a former U-boat captain, was among those in Germany who spoke out against Hitler. Predictably, he was arrested and imprisoned. En route to face his accusers in court he was walking through an underground tunnel when he heard these words: ‘The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.’ Niemoller was shocked. There was nobody around who could have said them. Had God spoken to him audibly? In the end it didn’t matter because God used His Word to strengthen and encourage one of His own. Apparently a Christian guard, who knew the acoustics inside the tunnel would allow somebody to whisper into the wall and be heard up ahead, had quoted the verse. Niemoller was acquitted but he was still imprisoned for another seven years. When the prosecutor asked, ‘How can we imprison a man who’s been acquitted?’ Hitler replied, ‘Because he’s my personal prisoner!’ Jesus said, ‘…when people…persecute you and falsely say…evil against you because of me. Rejoice…great is your reward in heaven…’ (Matthew 5:11-12 NIV). Charles Swindoll writes: ‘When you’re punished for doing the right thing, you’ve a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounding you (Hebrews 12:1)…faithful men and women who extended the kingdom and made the world a better place…at great personal cost…Take courage…you fight for the winning side.’ The Bible says: ‘…everyone who wants to live a godly life…will suffer…’ (2 Timothy 3:12 NLT). The second that prison-cell door slammed shut, Niemoller joined a distinguished league of saints willing to endure hardship in this life in order to reign with Christ in the next one.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, I come to You with a holy desire to please you and do the right things even others are criticizing me. I pray Lord to give me wisdom and courage to face every oppositions and negative critics and naysayers. I bless you Lord for you are my Chief Judge and a Strong Tower that I can hold on. Empower me Lord to stand strong and hold my faith in you until the enemies will be defeated and let me trust you always. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Meet the Lord by kneeling down

Get down on your knees
”Now there were…shepherds…” Luke 2:8

TODAY’S INSIGHT

The Christmas story goes like this: ‘There were…shepherds…keeping watch over their flocks by night. And behold an angel of the Lord stood before them…The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign to you: You will find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger’ (Luke 2:8-12 NKJV).

Have you ever wondered why the angel first talked to shepherds, a job considered lowest on the social pole? Think about it: if he’d talked to church leaders they’d have had to consult their doctrinal texts books and denominational boards. If he’d appeared to celebrities they’d have had to check and see who was watching. If he’d appeared to chief executives they’d have had to consult their diaries and spread sheets. So he gave the greatest news story in history to those with no axe to grind, no reputation to protect and no ladder to climb; people with humble hearts and open minds; people with simple, child-like faith. Getting the idea?

Outside Bethlehem there is a church marking Jesus’ birthplace. Behind the altar is a cave with a symbolic star embedded in the floor. You can enter the cave, but with one requirement – you must kneel. The door is too low to get in standing up! God still operates that way. You will find Him among the commonplace. But to experience Him, you must get down on your knees.

Apply this today in your life…

Is there something is too difficult for our God? That is why we call Him the GREAT I AM because He is everything for us. The problems we Christians are hesitant to come to God. Before the God of the old testament lives on the Holy of Holies or the temple made by the hands of men but now after we accept Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit of God lives in us. We can talk to Him directly now and if we humble ourselves to God He will speak to us for the answer of all our problems the key is to kneel down and trust Him. When will be the last time you humble or kneel down to God? Shall you do it right now and ask for His Wisdom and Guidance in your life. Is there anything that you want to change in your life is there anything to solve with the present circumstance in your life? Can you trust Him now? He is only an inch apart He is inside of your Body who is His temple a and lives in your heart and you can talk to him right now with humble heart. If you kneel down and believe, God will reveal to you the unsearchable and amazing answer to your problems and I am sure He will give you a perfect answer and solutions to your problems and you will taste God’s Victory into your life.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, today I thank you for coming into my life. Thank you that you are the one who came down to earth and solve our problems instead we are the one will subject to eternal lake of fire you rescue by sacrificing yourself to us because of your unconditional love. I bless you today Lord for this Christmas day because you are the greatest and ultimate gift that I received into my life and no words can explain Lord but only to say you Thank you for the eternal life and thank you for everything. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Awarding of Crown by the Lord Jesus

To all my FB Friends,

Christmas comes once in a year and this is the busiest celebration in the World and most of us are aspiring to have a big Christmas Tree and Parols and have keso debola, fried chicken, lechon etc..to place on the table but don’t you know that there are some also family have nothing to buy because of lack of financial capability which means they have no money to buy as in Zero. Here in Dammam we celebrate with my church mates with a simple foods we contribute each other and produce valenciana, spagahetti, pizza and buns and soft drinks but prior to celebrate we did a Bible Study regarding the Birth of Jesus. Don’t you know that those who have no money and have a small house who are living right now are very lucky than Jesus…The Story tell us that during the time when Virgin Mary was nursing a baby who is our Lord No one offered them a house and they landed to a manger this is animal stable. This is how our Savior was born- Though He is the Savior and God and He can command people to give them a good house but rather He chose the lowly place where there are no persons can trade in. If our Lord was born on Manger although He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and yet He still humble of himself can we not trust on Him for the better things to come.

Our Christmas today if you search deeply in the heart of so many people they are materialistic that they are willing to spent more than what they earned to show to their neighbors that thy are rich. The Truth is the richness is not on material things or outside wealth or possession but it is in the heart. My home in the Philippines my wife (Christy) and two daughters (Chriscially & Chrizel) they celebrate as a little foods on the table with enough rice and viand(ulam) three of them gave thanks to the Lord with zero expenses because the foods that they eat is the same of the supper they eat regularly . I don’t have petty of them because we family celebrate as simple menu as we could but the truth is we can afford to buy Big Lechon from Lydia Restaurant and other foods to stock on the table.

But the real celebration and essence of Christmas is not to have big party and feast but giving thanks to the Lord Jesus that He gave us a chance to reach at this time of our history and gave us a privilege to receive Him as personal Lord and Savior is the greatest gift that any men could ever receive. But it is sad because instead we focus on the provider we focus on the blessings or instead we focus on the Lord Jesus’s amazing birth we focus on Santa Claus Fantasy or instead we focus on spiritual or eternal things we focus on tangible gifts that perishes. On this season I pray that all of you and for those who have foods on the table or not and those who have job or not, those who recd gifts or not, those who have money or not. I pray to God that all of you will receive The Greatest Gift of all time who is Jesus Christ into your Heart as your Personal Lord and Savior. I pray and speak to God in this coming year 2012 that all of you my family & love ones, church mates, best friends, relatives and to all my FB friends that blessings upon blessings, grace upon grace, favor upon favor, peace, joy, love and Victory will come into your life. In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen! – God bless you and Merry Christmas to all!

My Christmas Message
To all my FB Friends,

Christmas comes once in a year. This is the busiest celebration in the World but most of us are aspiring to have a big Christmas Tree and Parols and have keso debola, fried chicken, lechon etc..to place on the table but don’t you know that there are some also family have nothing to buy because of lack of financial capability which means they have no money to buy as in Zero. The Rapture of the Church

Simeon

”I can die in [peace]…I have seen the Saviour.” Luke 2:29-30

TODAY’S DEVOTION

The Bible says: ‘There was a man named Simeon who lived in Jerusalem. He was a righteous man and very devout…and he eagerly expected the Messiah to come…The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, ‘Lord, now I can die in peace…I have seen the Saviour.’ (Luke 2:25-34 TLB).

The story of Simeon teaches us three important truths:

First: No matter how long it takes, if you seek the Lord you will find Him. Or better yet, He will find you and reveal Himself to you.

Second: God, not you, chooses the time and the manner in which He will come to you. Simeon didn’t get to see Christ’s amazing ministry during His three and a half years of supernatural power. He only saw the newborn baby in Mary’s arms. But he saw God, and that was enough for him.

Third: Even though he was ‘very devout,’ Simeon realized that he was only ready to die when he met the Lord and embraced Him.
Some of us don’t want to die until we’ve seen the world. Simeon didn’t want to die until he had seen the Redeemer of the world. So the question you must answer is – have you met the Lord? Is He your personal Savior? Only when you have the right answer, are you ready to die.

Apply this today in your life…

Do you know that many people right now want to die just to embrace the world ( Money, Sex, Popularity, Successful Career and Business etc…) It is frustrating because some person want to commit sins or kill someone just to get the reward of money or they want to manipulate others just to become successful in business or destroyed the reputation of others just to get the top position that they’ve dream of and that is where the world is moving. I just recent chat with my church sister she said to me that she will not go to the Church because somebody in the Church members hated her, she was actually intimidated but I told her in coming to the Church you come there not for men but for the Lord. If going to the Church and you are intimidating because somebody is hating you which means you faith is questionable you are not ready to die for the Lord. When you come to worship Him you are ready to die for the Lord which means you are ready to stand in your faith or face any eventualities sometimes your closes enemies are your families or love ones sometimes is your friends, church mates or leaders or Pastors of the Church.

If you are ready to die for the Lord you should not be intimidated. God knows your heart and He will be the one to remove those church members or leaders or Pastors whose hearts are full of envies, criticism, malicious and introduce or fund of politics because Church should never be like that. Church should be gentle and loving and not looking for the mistakes of others but encourage you to rise up. As God says “Do not judge so that you will not be judge”. God sees our motives and heart If we are not ready to die for Him we are not genuine believers of the Savior. Today I know brethren…you are facing tremendous difficulty to move on and hardly to reach our Savior Jesus but dare to stretch your hand and have faith in Him and tell the Lord Today I will follow you and no one can stop me not my church mates, not my pastors, not my enemies not my families or friends and not any circumstances. You need to move and press forward for the Lord Jesus and show your love to them or even to those who destroyed you or even you have no money or materials things right now the most important is you have the Lord Jesus Christ in your heart and Salvation that He promise to you are enough for you to receive especially on this Christmas day. Happy Noche Buena!!!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, Thank you for the Lord Jesus Christ who died in our behalf . Thank you Lord for you are the perfect gift to us and because of your sacrifice we inherit the eternal life that no one could ever give but you only Lord. Thank you for receiving you as my personal Lord and Savior and I say to myself that this is the greatest gift that I received today. I bless you today Lord for the gift of eternal life that you shared to me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
